Pam Andreasen, The mother of The Flutterby House, is originally from Half Moon Bay, California. Pam, an avid backpacker, former river rafting guide, and overall badass, is now a hostel builder and owner who knows exactly what a traveler needs. Her laid-back style and love of people make her the perfect hostess.

Kim Andreasen is Pam’s sister, friend and partner in crime.  She is business in the front, and party in the back! With her business savvy and Pam’s go for it attitude, these two make a great team and make the Flutterby a comfortable family run business.

Neil Vaughn, our resident tico-gringo (tingo), has lived in Costa Rica since he was 11 years old and really embodies the Pura Vida attitude! He has done all of the landscape design and maintenance since the Flutterby has opened. He has also headed many projects to maintain a sustainable and  environmentally conscious lifestyle at the Flutterby..When not at the Flutterby you can find Neil surfing, cooking, hanging with his dog and enjoying life!  

Volunteers: You will most always find a friendly volunteer holding down the fort.  Past volunteers have made their mark through many different ways; construction, art, organization, community outreach, and just an overall better atmosphere!  The volunteers become part of the Flutterby family forever, and you can frequently find past volunteers coming back to their home away from home!
