General Directions
The Flutterby House is in Uvita, a city in the Osa region of Costa Rica, about 20km south of Dominical. The nearest airports are at Quepos and Palmar Norte, which will still require a bus or taxi to reach us. The most economical option are the public and semi-privae buses from San Jose, which takes about four to five hours. You can also arrange for a private mini-bus which will take you directly to the Flutterby House for fifty to seventy five dollars.

From the NORTH:
THE COASTENARA IS COMPLETED! The road is paved all the way from San Jose through Quepos to Panama!
Stay on the bus through Uvita! The bus will turn onto a freshly paved road heading into Bahia. Get off at the first stop at the 4-corners. Follow the signs to The Flutterby House.

Get off at La Flor de Sabana in Uvita. The bus will stop there for a rest stop.
*This bus is a little more expensive, but makes no stops and is much faster! From La
Flor de Sabana call a taxi, or walk (about 30 min) to the Flutterby House. Also, you
can call the Flutterby house and we are more than happy to help you out!

Driving Directions:
From SAN JOSE Airport
Go South on CN 1 until you reach San Jose (about 15 minutes). You will pass the Crowne Plaza and Parque Sabana on your right. After you pass the park take a right before the McDonalds on to the CN 27 going west towards Jaco. Take the newly paved Costanera Sur that passes through Jaco, Quepos and then Dominical to Uvita. After Quepos on the round about towards Uvita.

Fom SAN JOSE/SAN ISIDRO
Take the Inter-American highway (CN 2) to San Isidro de General (Perez Zeledon).
After 120 km/ 60 miles (about 3 hours driving) through the mountain you will arrive to San Isidro, take right at McDonnald sign and follow the street that will end it up at the road to Dominical. After 37 km/ 23 miles (about 45 minutes driving time), the road ends and you will have two choices: right towards Manuel Antonio, or left toward Domincal .Take a LEFT towards Dominical on the Costenera Highway. From Dominical continue south on paved Costanera Sur highway until you reach Uvita.
From Supermercado BM / Banco Costa Rica; UVITA
Head south on the costenera . Go over the bridge and continue about 3 minutes. 150 meters south of Banco Nacional take a right, right before "Cabinas Gato". There will be a Parque Nacional Marina Ballena sign.
Turn left at the first intersection where you will see The Flutterby House signs. Follow this road over a small bridge and around a corner until your first right (about a 10 minute walk). The Flutterby House is the first building on your left.
From the SOUTH/PANAMA
Get on the Costenera going north. Before getting into the town of Uvita you will pass Soda Kem Vari on the right. Turn left onto a paved road at Cabinos Gatos. Make a left at the first intersection and follow the signs to the Flutterby House.
